Make a difference — one Spot at a time!
Adopt A Spot is a simple way to take care of a local place that matters to you. By adopting a Spot, you’re committing to look after it and help make it cleaner, greener and more welcoming for people and nature.
Anyone can get involved — whether you’re a school, business, community group or individual. Your Spot could be a street, green space, park, coastline or any other local area that you want to help protect and improve.
Join more than 1,400 groups across Northern Ireland already taking action in their local communities. From litter picking and creating wildlife habitats to encouraging others to care for their local environment, there are lots of ways to make a difference.

How to Get Involved
Choose your Spot
Pick a place you care about — it could be a park, beach, alleyway, or any local space that needs attention. Always make sure it’s safe and that you have permission to access it.
Register your Spot
Create a Submittable account and sign up to Adopt A Spot. Once registered, you’ll be able to access your Spot details anytime and share your progress.
By registering, you agree to care for your Spot and follow our Health and Safety guidance.
Plan your activities
Decide how you’d like to improve your Spot. You could plant for pollinators, support wildlife habitats, or carry out regular litter picks. Every action counts.

Before you begin, we recommend completing a BioBlitz to see what wildlife is already there. It’s a great way to set a baseline and track change over time.

Log your progress
Use the Activity Log to record what you’ve done. It helps us celebrate your impact and see the difference being made across Northern Ireland.
Each year, we’ll also invite you to complete a short survey so you can share feedback and reflect on your progress.
